Now I'm even more excited to see it. Growing up in the era of comic books, marvel trading cards, and the golden age of video games, I feel like this will be right up my alley.

I totally agree, this movie was such a let down. I love the actors and was hoping for a subtle witty comedy. Instead it's just stupid. Waste of money.

I saw this movie tonight! Got home not too long ago actually and the first thing I thought was.. "gotta go see what Kev thought!"
By the time it was over, yes, I wanted to see it again. Holy crap, is all I had to say. It was amazing. I'm so glad DiCaprio is getting more roles because I've always loved him, same with Levitt as well! And I love Ellen Page... Juno made me fall in love with her haha.
So yeah, great freaking movie!

This is one of the few movies that still has me thinking about it the next day. I want to see it again asap. I know you don't usually write about the score when it comes to movies but Hans Zimmer nailed this one. Zimmer has quite a gift. He writes the softest string music mixed with powerful brass. The last track, titled "Time" is amazing. "528491" is a lot like a windup...it leads up to suspense for over two minutes and then it hits with 15 seconds left. I think this film is an absolute masterpiece. It is better than The Dark Knight, better than Memento and better than The Prestige...and I think that is saying a lot.

I did enjoy the movie, but I agree that it could have been done way better. I watched like the first five episodes the cartoon, and I'm very glad I didn't watch any more because I think it would have made me dislike the film. For one.. they totally mispronounce Aang's name! It's Aang.. like.... wang haha.. not Aang like Ong..
On top of that.. from what little I did watch of the cartoon, Sokka is supposed to be somewhat of a comic relief and that was a HUGE let down for me. The acting in the beginning started off terribly and I didn't believe it, though I felt the quality of acting did improve as it went along...
Overall I did enjoy the film, but I agree that it could have been way better.
There are supposed to be what, two more "books"? They'll either replace M Night.. or not even make the sequels...

nice review of a crap movie. I think Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan was never a good director or a good writer. He just was just working with some of the most talented actors in the business. They didn't need to be directed. Bruce Willis does what he does, he doesn't need someone to tell him what to do. Marky Mark on the other hand, needs a coach every step of the way, and so did the new commers in Avatar. I blame Manoj. Sweet review, sorry for the rant, obviously not a fan of the dude.
